James B. Mathis III

James is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but has called Charlotte home since 1999. James graduated with honors from Queens College with a BA in Communications. His past work experience includes Assistant to the Attorney General, Field Director for Bob Dole for President, VP at the Charlotte Chamber, and Director at Charlotte Center City Partners.

James leads the firm in business planning, marketing, public relations, and community affairs.  CP has over 110 advisors in both North and South Carolina and a core of 40 dedicated support staff members in the home office in Charlotte, NC.

James is active in the Charlotte community with service on several non-profit boards and is passionate about his family. James is married to Charlotte native Jennifer Crisp Mathis and they have 2 children.
